A new pair of Versace sneakers have been discovered at the Highsnobiety store alongside some fragments of an ancient yet more advanced civilisation…

Referencing ancient aliens, liquid metals and archaeological dig sites, we designed an installation for the Highsnobiety store in Berlin. It was to celebrate the launch of Versace’s new sneaker, called “Mercury”.

Starting with a 3D design to understand mass and the volumes required, we developed the design to be eye-catching from the front of the store and interactive up close, complete with a walkway for an in-the-round sculptural experience. We ordered 2m³ of pink earth from the south of Germany and dressed it onto a massive lightweight mound which we built in the store. The large silver props scattered throughout the installation were inspired by the Mercury shoe itself and fabricated with the help of CNC.
